HR models from King Kong XBox 360

some awesome models, great zbrush skills, were they for normalmap extraction.

Five stars :+1:

That’s fantastic work! Great!
I’m sorry, but can you show your alphas for crossing wrinkles on the skin? Just have not good enough of such kind…

the Trex is my Fav

looks just amazing

I was actually lucky enough to go into the XYZ RGB facility which is located in my home town and saw the large elephant model from the Lord of the Rings movie. They still had the maquette that they’d scanned. They even kept the Weta Digital tape that was used on the packing material. It was really cool to see. Then yesterday as I was going to the gym I noticed that they had relocated across the street from my new gym. Think I’ll pay them a visit as they were nice enough to show me around last time.

Some of the mesh was done using xyzrgb’s material scan of a crocodiles skin.

Astonishing Works Rhodeder ! :+1: Especially the Kong Head.

You’re talking about millions of poly mesh ! But i’ve play the KK game on PC , and the creature looks realy rough compare to what i can see there !

I assume that you haven’t import a million poly’s mesh into Ubisoft Engine !

So i would like to understand why the final product has loose so many détails !

  • it is impossible to render correctly a very detail zB normal map with Ubi-Engine ?
  • The PC hardware can’t handle so much details ?
  • Hardcore deadline ?

At the end i would like to know if it is possible to have a low poly character of about 5000 Poly’s and combine it with a very detailed zB normal Map !

Does Real Time Rendering with Game engine like Source can do this ?

Thanks for your light !

Best regards !

Oups ! it looks you give me the answer on the Hl2 Topic !

Thanks !

Looking at this level of work always makes me feel like a little rodent-mamal, scurrying around the feet of dinosaurs. Awed. But then again, look what happenend in the end. The mamals are coming!

Wonderful work Joe. Especially the gorrilla. Beautiful.

nice model, but the face part look weird to me.
