how tu making fur surface in zbrush 3.1

masta2,
wam a beginner in zbrush. my currently using zbrush 3.1 now, and i want to ask how to making a fur surface in zbrush. i meant what brush we have to use? where can i find the tutorial video that taught about that?

thx

There’s a 2.5D way to do it and a 3D way to do it.

For 2.5D (meaning that you’ve permanently snapshot the model to the canvas and now want to paint fur onto it before rendering) you would use the Fibers brush.

For 3D (meaning that you can continue rotating the model to snapshot later) you would use PolyPaint and paint on the Fibers material. You can then modify the material to get the exact effect you want. You can also paint multiple Fibers materials onto the model. These fibers will not appear until you do a Best Render with Render>Fibers turned on, though.

Both fur options are ZBrush-only. They can’t be exported to other apps.

well thx, bro.
i’ll try the web link that you gave me.

actually i want to ask 1 more question ( maybe a lame question:confused: ).
how can we download the video tutorials in zclassroom? i did’nt look there is a setting to let us download the video.

thx again

i have question about those fibers,…where can i control their lenght?

actually i have’nt intensively explore the fiber brush yet, so i cant give you any answer. maybe you can ask aurick or another member. i am just a beginner:(

If you’re using the Fibers tool, length is controlled by Zadd. If using a Fibers material, you’ll find the Length slider in the Material>Modifiers. Make sure the S1 channel is selected at the top of the Modifiers.

Regarding the ZClassroom movies, they cannot be downloaded for offline viewing.

thnx aurick,…
