how to zadd or zsub features at a specific angle

Hi

I am new to zbrush. I have tried looking online for my solution and i havent found it. so heres my problem. when i hold down my left mouse button and hold down shift then i can scuplt straight lines. but i would like be able to hold down shift and be able to scuplt lines at a specific angle like 30 degrees or 40 degrees instead of 90 degrees. I also looked under the stroke modifiers and under the curve features i found the as line feature. It allows me to trace out a line which is what i am looking for but once i decide to let go and assume that a straight feature would be extruded from the traced line this does not occur. I am wondering if i am not using the feature correctly or if there is an alternate way of doing this please let me know

There are a number of options.

Stroke Menu > Lazy Mouse (make sure it’s activated) > Backtrack (activated) > Line (activated). First, draw a straight line out in any direction, then move back and forth on the line to actually stroke with it.

For a quicker and less precise solution, hold down shift prior to left clicking on the empty canvas, release Shift while still holding down mouse button, and you will be able to rotate your model parallel to the viewing plane, allowing you to use the Shift stroke functionality you’re already aware of to draw a straight line at the angle you wish. In other words, Shift constrains the stoke to 45 degree increments in the viewing plane, but you rotate the model itself to get the angle you want.

You can also use Projection Master to draw displacement using the 2.5 D brushes which have a straight line stroke option, and will produce crisp looking lines at a fixed depth.

If you are wishing to draw out some very precise lines and features with straight edges over the surface of the model, you may find that using a custom alpha which you can draw out and rotate at any angle for precise displacement, or using actual geometry, is better suited for the task.

thanks that back track solution kinda works. still looks like i loose a some precision for longer lines but i will just use the move feature.
