Slicecurve has no effect. I know, I must be doing it wrong but please. enlighten me. thanks :qu:
[edit] beaten by support again!
You must have the "group " button in the Dynamesh section pressed in order to make two separate pieces out of the sliced object when dynameshing.
Otherwise, Curve Slice will only split into separate polygroups, which you can see if Polyframe is turned on.
went good, worked. I am testing this with a sphere so I made some cuts, hit, group split and xpose and it came apart but now I see the outside of the parts and the inside of the mesh is open faced. as in I can see thru. in the video I remember him making cuts and xpose and I saw closed face mesh surfaces on the inside. what am I doing wrong?
THANKS …alot
edit: so I selected a piece and clicked on “close holes” and that worked but it was not a flat cut along the slice it was concave. I know im doing something wrong still
-
Select a Polymesh 3d object.
-
Use Curve Slice on it.
-
Press “Group” in Dynamesh section of Geometry palette.
-
Press Dynamesh.
done.
OK we golden. maybe an ounce more trial and error and I would have had it thank you so much.

next. what is this crazy slice of digital goodness coming from is anyone else getting that from sphere slices? just curious its not a problem. thanks

You can slice without using dynamesh too. Make sure you either have no subdivisions, or alternatively freeze the subdivisions (under Tool:Geometry). Slice the model, then press the Groups Split button (Tool:SubTool). Having polyframe on helps you see what your doing. The result will be two subtools, which you can then move/rotate/scale individually.
