How to use create this normal map?

Hello,

I really want to know how to create a normal map like the picture I attached.
This is a work from a member here.
What I want to do is print hexagon mark on a body that I am working on.
I tried to use a alpha in zbrush, but I couldn’t create a clean normal map.
How can I print like this…

Thank you for the reply.

Could you explain how I can use photoshop to create it?
Or if you can give me a tutorial link, that would be great.
Sorry, I am a total newbie.

You can do the hex-pattern usin zbrush in 2.5d mode (dropping the tools in the canvas). With the tilde key (ñ) you can move everything inside the canvas so that you can make a seamless texture.

Once you have that apply the normal map material, and then you can export it as a psd.

In photoshop use a overlay mode for R and G channels, and a multiply for the B. That should do that efortlessly.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I am not 100% sure how it works, but I will find it out by your advice.
Since I am a noob, I don’t know what is 2.5d mode, but I am sure I can look it up and find it.
I’ve been wanting to do it a long time but I just couldn’t figure it out.

Search for solidsnakexxx’s “Mantis man” entry, from the superhero contest, there he explains how to do the pattern inside zBrush
