How to transfer normals to a new/retopologized mesh?

Hello all.

I have a high poly sculpt which I retopologized in topogun and gave it some UVs.

Now, how to I get a normal map?

Logic and experience simply tells me to export the high res sculpt from zbrush as an OBJ, and create the normals normals with Maya’s transfer maps, or by using Xnormal, but it simply does not work.

I believe a big problem is caused by Zbrush exporting the sculpt in groups, which are treated as pieces, even though I merged all subtools to one layer.

So how do I tell zbrush to transfer the sculpt to the low poly mesh via a normal map?
How to I tell zbrush “transfer the normals to this NEW mesh?”

Problem solved.

Somewhere along the pipeline, I moved the low poly, so it was no longer a cage.
Of course, there was no way I could get it back to the default position by hand/eye balling it, as the new position became 0,0,0.

So I had to export the mesh from topogun again, then recreate UVs. XNormal created normals and AO perfectly.
