How to set-up preferences ?

Hello,

I work on a athlon 2.2 Ghz with 2 Go Ram under winXP and I want to know what are the bests settings for Zbrush, to have the best performances, even if I can’t run any program at the same time.
So, I think almsot all the performances settings are in the “MEM” part of the preferences panel.
I 'd like to know also if I need to setup the size of my tablet or to verify if the size is OK (I have a A4 oversize wacom) in the preferences.

thank you for any help

Cédric

Set the Compact Mem setting to be something very close to (but not larger than) the amount of RAM that you have installed. With that much RAM you can easily afford to crank your Undo/Redo settings up pretty high, too.

You can run other programs at the same time as ZBrush without trouble. When you switch to another app, ZBrush will automatically write what it’s keeping in RAM to your temp virtual memory file and then enter Sleep mode until you return to ZBrush. ZBrush will also sleep after a few seconds of inactivity. Basically, ZBrush only sucks up your PC’s power when it has to – the rest of the time, it makes as much as possible available to your machine so that you can do other things without having to shut down ZBrush.

Regarding the Tablet, it’s only necessary to change those settings if you’re finding that the tablet is not performing the way that you would like it to.

thank you very much

I’ll give Zbrush a lot of RAM to eat
