Hi
There is a seldom mentioned function in ZBrush for hiding loops of polygons. To activate the function turn on Transform > Lasso. This changes the default rectangle used with masking and polygon selection operations into a lasso style tool.
Then simply hold CTRL+SHIFT and click a polygon edge to hide a loop of polygons. Next inverse the visibility by holding CTRL+SHIFT and dragging out a selection area outside of the model.
To select only a few polygons in a loop you would hold CTRL+SHIFT, drag around the polygons you want to remove and then release SHIFT, which turns your selection area into a subtraction area. See the Mouse Actions for Partial Mesh Visibility for more.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Ups. I did not register the part where you mentioned crease. Creasing will always be applied to the open edges of the currently visible polygons. You cannot select edges directly so you will have to use partial mesh visibility to define which edges are affected.
