How to see diffuse

Hi i couldn’t find a specified forum for questions about zbrush so im posting my question here.

im trying to to do matcap to texture, and im going trough the tutorial, but im stuck at that i cant get my diffuse to show on the model, i took the hp into maya and uv mapped it, took it back in, if i select a texture in the diffuse slot, the model just stays the same.

Is there something else i have to do?

Firstly, what is the method you are using to bake your matcap to texture? If I understand what you are saying, why would you unwrap your mesh at the high poly level in Maya? It’s just not practical.

And lastly, once you have your texture map loaded in the texture map slot need to have texture ON (sorry if this is obvious to you).

If you want to convert your texture map to polypaint you must: Polypaint > Polypaint from Texture.

If none of the above helps, perhaps you could be more clear about what you want.
