HOW TO ROTATE THE ZSPHERE OBJECT

How does one rotate the zsphere object as a whole on one axis? Also you may notice im having trouble controlling the x symmetry dots???

Hi JUSTNPROUD
Here is the appropaite linkQuickLinks for Version 1.55b
I hope this help
Andreseloy

Im trying to rotate the whole thing not just one zsphere as i saw in the pdf.And i have the symmetry problem.i went thru the quicklinks already thats why i posted the question here.I also did searches.

Don’t know if I can help … I assume the symmetry problem occured when you tried to rotate the whole thing. I discovered that the shift key will constrain the rotation for you.

Yeah i tried that, but it kinda jumps ahead in rotation.theres no smooth rotation.it jumps from one point to a distant one.Thanks.

Hi JUSTNPROUD
Excuse me.

Oh.Well!

hi JUSTNPROUD,when trying to get symmetry
when using zpsheres it helps to shift click the first zsphere square to the canvas then
use x and y for example, you will see four
cursors (red) and as they come together (green) this will build symmetrical zspheres.

Thanks. You can see my first bird model.First model. On the home page.i used the symmetry script.its there on the post. Thanks a million.By the way does anybody know if its possible to use tools like the hook brush while in edit mode? ill make a post on the subject anyway.and thanks.nice day.

your welcome and no the hook brush is a 2.5d
tool

Is there any way at all to reap the benefits of the 2.5 tools when modelling?

only to enhance a 3d object after it is snaphot to the canvas

There are two ways to rotate the mesh as a whole the way that you would like.

  1. Tool>Modifiers>Deformations>Rotate. This actually changes the object’s rotational axis, which in turn affects the way that it is drawn.

  2. Exit Edit mode and activate the Rotate gyro. You can now rotate it by dragging on the appropriate ring, or by using the Transform>Info sliders.

You can use some of the 2.5 tools and effects with texture master too. Although you need to do a few things before you can get it too work properly. Just use the pick shaded option.

This is the best i could do for my first zsphere magnets bird.I realize that using symmetry after skinning is useless. So next time ill do that before. And have a better bird.its great to be so immersed in the variety of support. We can only get better whether teaching or not.teaching is good because im sure it refreshes and stimulate the mind.peace.But i still wonder why I was unable to divide an area i had masked off.Namely i used a square alpha to taget the feet section since i wanted to do some finer sculpting there.but it just would divide around the perimeter of the area.later the bird as a whole was divided no problem.

Only the bird is in parts. Is it possible to make him whole?i realize cause i imported into Cinema 4d and he looks good but is in parts.

Please do not ask the same question in multiple threads. It only makes things confusing for everyone. I have answered the question where you asked it in the other thread, so please see the answer there.

Regarding the issue of dividing, I suspect now that you were trying to divide part of the preview mesh. This cannot be done because ZSpheres are a mesh generator as opposed to an actual mesh object. Once you skinned the model, you were able to divide the skin becuause it no longer had the connection to the ZSpheres. You could also have divided just the feet at that time.

Got my answers all set. Thanks . please close this topic at your discretion.peace.
