how to rotate stamp in PM

I’m trying to paint bump, from an alpha I’ve created, on a model in PM. It seems that the direction brush is the only one that allows rotation of the stamp where as the other tools only allow move and scale. Problem is that when I go into “rotate mode” after placing the stroke, the alpha turns solid and just places a block. Is this a bug - is there a workaround or another way to do what I want (position, rotate, scale, adjust alpha… a stroke in PM)?

Thanks,

Allan

try converting the alpha into a stencil, then press space bar and the ‘button’ with the stencil manipulator shows up. You can zadd with a stencil with any brush.
good luck

Also try using the Directional Brush with the DragRectangle stroke. You can rotate the alpha while painting the stroke.

You’re right - I’m too impatient!! I tried this before and it worked fine for color, but with depth, when I switched to zsub or zadd, the alpha turned into a solid block. I see now that it it will switch back if I fudge the manipulators around a bit.

Thanks!
