How to render a alpha

I am rendering a piece of geometry in Zbrush 4.0 and I need to export a alpha channel so i can extract the rendered RGB in photoshop.

I saw i can go to the alpha menu > GrabDoc button and it produces a height map–but not a alpha. What do I need to do to get a alpha?

If you do a BPR render you can turn on the Create Maps button at the top of the Render palette. You can then save the map by pressing the relevant button. The alpha is called ‘Mask’.
