I am having this issue when I am moving objects, specifically a sphere for eyes. I insert sphere, scale it down approximately to the right size, then use the move tool to position it. When I try to do any minor scaling after that the origin has changed do to the move I just did. This is very frustrating for a number of reasons not least of which is that the objects changes position significantly from even minor scaling.
What am I doing wrong here and how can I avoid this in the future?
Thank you!
You need to use the Set Pivot & Clear Pivot controls in the Transform palette:
http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/transform/
If you are scaling two spheres with the transpose lines, scale mode and working with symetry for both eyes i.e. they will scale to the center unless you activate Local Symetry. You can find it under Transform Pallete called “L.Sym” or just in the buttons located in right side of the canvas under the Persp, Flor, Local, L.Sym
