How to move a model?

I am really new to ZBrush, but so far, I think it is a great application.

I went through some tutorials and started to mold a character face out of a polysphere.

I know that when I can rotate, move, and scale when I am in “Edit” and “Draw” mode.

But after I have “switched” tools, how do I rotate, move, or scale my character then?

I am ultimately just trying to paint my character face.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Switching tools will convert the current one to pixols. It can’t be worked with as polys again.

There are a couple options for you:

1) PolyPaint. Simply use the sculpting brushes in the Brush palette with Zadd off and Rgb on. This will let you paint directly on the 3D model. With Zadd on you can even sculpt and paint at the same time.

2) Projection Master. If you need to use one of the 2D or 2.5D tools found in the Tool palette, you can use Projection Master to drop the model. After painting on it, you then use PM to pick the model back up again and convert your work back to a 3D format.

This stuff is covered in the tutorial movies and online documentation. See my signature.

Both options are actually points I don’t remember from the tutorials I have watched.

The second is something I was completely unaware about.

Thanks for the help!
