how to mirror Clip Curve changes on masked surface?

hello guys,
I am doing some hard surface modelling.
Watching a tutorial I seen clip curve in action.
Well it’s amazing you know.
During the demonstration the author of the tutorial masked the left area of the mesh to clip, in order to protect it, because the clip curve destroys symmetrical meshes in some cases.

He modified the unmasked area by his own and then, then THE STRANGE THING HAPPENS.

He invert the mask so now the mask surrounds the right side and, after that, he make the previus changes -done with clip curve brush- in the other side of the mesh!!!

I really want to understad how he did this little magic, but the author doesnt say how.

Some one could help me please?

Cheers

Matteo

He probably clicked ‘Tool > Deformation > Smart ReSym’.

[edit] Oops, Zber was faster on the draw.

Sounds like the Smart resym function (Tool > Deformation > Smart Resym), which requires you to mask protected areas and resymmetrizes the unmasked areas to match the masked ones.

Your options for forcing symmetry are:

Tool> Deformation> Resym (Mirrors form with similar vertext counts)

Tool> Deformation> Smart resym ( mirrors form in more advanced fashion)

Tool> Geometry > Modify topology> Mirror and Weld (duplicates exact geometry across selected axis.)

ooooooooo that’s fantastic guys thaks you!!!
it is working!

i get another weapon to survive into the fantastic dungeon of zbrush!

thaks
