How to make this kind of geometry?

Been trying to get a similar (head) shape like in this beautiful art someone on Pinterest made (im learning how to make hard surface shapes correctly). So far I tried numerous ways but either I cannot get close, or they dont give me a nice hard surface.

Would someone be so kind and explain to me how you would approach something like this?Art (22)

What I basically mean is the head only so the main shape of the head. The “eyes” on the sides, the mouth and the covers on the side of the head that go over to the top of the head.

I am pretty confident about the other parts (and clothing), I can do that, but I just cannot get the main shape of the head.

Oh, I also tried cutting shapes but that just works half the time, the other half it returns weird topology which is very hard to get into proper shape.

Hope someone can give me some pointers on how to do this.

Joseph Drust models (sculpts) a helmet in ZClassroom afaik. Check that out. Helmet Design

Michael Pavlovich has also done a ton of this stuff. Check out Michael Pavlovich Artstation. There’s a Halo helmet and other hard surface stuff like that. Also on his Youtube for example

@tobor8man thanks for your reply, some awesome links in there! I will definitely check them out this weekend.

But what I meant more is the shape (sort of shield) on his head. It covers a small portion of his upper head and then bends around it so to speak.

Anyways, ill check out the links you gave me this weekend, I am sure there is much to learn
