how to make a character sitting cross legged

hi guys,

i’m just launching into creating a character in a seated cross legged pose and I am wondering if you may be able to offer me some advice…would you start off by using zspheres to get the body into the position I want it to begin with and then refine details with adaptive skin, or would you create the character in a standing position and then bend the adaptive skin model using the move tool etc?

i am going to use the model for 3d printing. the charatcers does need to be animated.

This it TOTALLY up to you…

There are a bunch of different ways to approach this (you mention a few).

A standing T-pose would be good if you ever want to use the same character in different poses, and you can use symmetry for the initial sculpt.

You could also create a zsphere rig for posing, or the transpose tools.
You can certainly start right off sculpting the posed figure.

I don’t think there’s any “right” answer - why not try a couple different ways and see what works best for you?

Thanks Thor for sharing your thoughts and advice, much appreciated. I’ll give it a try and find out I guess !

One questions though: my character has four arms…i’d like to copy and paste the spheres for the hands (as well as symmetry) . is this possible?
