How to maintain the lowpoly mesh after subdividing?

Zbrush question - how to maintain the lowpoly mesh after …

My question is quite a specific one. I import a mesh into Zbrush and divide it 7ish times for high poly sculpting. And then when I return to the lowest subdivision level it is very different from the actual low poly mesh I just imported.

Can anyone help me find a way to make sure the lowest subdivision level remains totally unchanged from the mesh I imported. I have tried morph targets but to no avail.

If anyone does have an answer can you please be very specific about the steps I need to take? I am not very smart at working things out.

Thank you so much for any help

go into edit mode.
go to subD level 1
store a morph target…tool>morph target>store MT
while in edit mode…tool>import
import in your original mesh (obj) again.

before stepping up again make sure you change switch target again or you will distort your HP mesh.

Will try this, thank you so much
