Hi all!
I’ve sculpted a human head with a few subdivision levels in ZBrush, and separately modeled a low poly body in Wings 3D. I’d like to combine the two in ZBrush without using Dynamesh, so as to preserve the topology in the low-poly body, as well as the higher polycount of the head. Is this possible?
Or should I connect the verts manually using zsphere topology editing?
My biggest concern is the subdiv levels on the head. If I combined the body to the head, and then went up a few subdivision levels, would that screw up the whole model?
Any advice is much appreciated.
UPDATE: Solved it. After a bit of experimenting, it seems that ZB retains all subdiv levels on the exported obj file if you freeze subdivision levels before exporting.
Just in case anyone else has a similar question:
Merged the head down with the low poly body, brought it down to subdiv 1, and froze subdivision levels. I then exported it as an OBJ file to Blender and joined the vertices, and then re-imported to ZB. Subdiv levels are retained, and the now combined low poly body subdivides along with the head.
