Hey guys, is there a way to make alpha in 3.5 behave the same way as in 3.1?
*left - 3.1 - the alphas has edges defined by the alpha itself
*right -3.5 - edges are always rounded (rf=0)

Not completely, that I can see, unfortunately. It is a bit sub optimal at present.
The best you appear to be able to do at this point, is select a square alpha (you are correct, the default “alpha off” position is now circle, not square, and drag the focal shift slider all the way to the left at -100. This will result in a shape that is mostly square, with only the very corners rounded off.
Perhaps it is possible to make a custom alpha that has the white square far enough into the center so as to avoid the radial clipping.
The good news is, we went through this before with the release of 3.0, and they changed it back for us with the subsequent release, so there is hope that this will only be a temporary situation.
Next update will allow for rect-alphas.
