How to get clean edges when masking?

How to get clean edges when masking?

Thank you so much for any little help,
appreciate it!

Hello @FattyBull ,

The definition possible for masking is entirely dependent on your topology. If the underlying polygons do not form a clean border, then the border of the masking will not be clean either.

You can:

  1. Increase the resolution of the underlying mesh, which will make a higher resolution masking border possible. The actual border of the polygons won’t be as apparent if the mesh resolution is high enough.

  2. Draw your topology in such a way that the polygons you want to mask form a clean border. The Slice brushes can be used to cut precise polygroup assignments with clean borders into an existing mesh topology.

  3. Use one of the options for applying a polish to your polygroup edge. This will tighten up the polygroup border, but it still wont replace having good underlying topology or slicing your groups in.

Good luck!

Thank you. The easiest way would be to demonstrate it in a video.
Would that be possible?

thank you
