How to get alpha to NOT control texture opacity??

hey,

I was wondering if this is at all possible.
What I would like to do is model with an alpha, and paint with a texture at the same time, but not have the alpha control the texture opacity. I just want the alpha to control the zAdd. I want the opacity to be controlled by the Focal Shift.

is this possible?
It seems like it should be but I’m quite inexperienced with Zbrush.

the reason for this is so that I can have alpha stamps that are already painted

cheers

No, the alpha does control opacity. I am not aware of any way to change that.

you know, that’s a real shame.
It seems like such an obvious tool that could save loads of time. it also seems like something that would be easy to add. :S
such a shame…

I agree, this is a real shame. I would like to do a cliff wall. If I could sculpt using the alpha AND paint a corresponding color pass (that doesn’t fade out the “lower” it gets in the sculpt) I would be a lot faster, with better results… Does anyone have at least a workaround, if there is no solution for this?
