How to export polypaint with Decimation Master

I’m decimating my model and exporting it to topogun for retopology. I selected “use and keep polypaint” from the preferences drop down menu and then exported all subtools. I had “freeze borders” selected. Yet, when I open the exported obj in Topogun there is no color information, and one of the seems in the hat has come apart and I can see the hair underneath.

Should the polypaint info be visible in topogun? I thought it would be, but I’m not seeing anything. I also don’t know why the hat seem came apart. It was not separated like that in the subtool prior to decimation.

I smoothed out the area where the seam had occurred and then re-decimated. It isn’t pulling apart anymore so that issue is resolved

However, I’m still trying to get the polypaint data over to Topogun for my model and it’s not creating anything. I see a .bmp file with the exported .obj, but it is solid black. Has anyone decimated and moved the textures into topogun successfully? Are there certain steps to take other than checking the proper box in the decimation preferences window?

I’m at a standstill and would really like to figure this out…

This mentions the option to enable vertex colors. I’d give it a shot if you can find it. http://www.topogun.com/Docs/docs/Reference.MainMenu.htm

Otherwise I’d try a small polypaint test in another program. Decimation Master preserves polypaint with the option you mentioned, and zbrush exports it when exporting to OBJ (assuming the polypaint is visible on the mesh), so there’s a good chance this is just topogun specific.
