How to Develop a Work Flow

Hello I have been using Zbrush 4R6 for a bit of time and am quite familiar with its various features and functions but I feel as though I am stuck. I have been trying to develop a solid work flow for developing robot cyborgs out of a human basemesh. I have a few ideas on what to do but I am not completely sure and was wondering if someone could correct my thoughts:

  1. I would first sculpt a human face and head out of dynamesh and give it hair using fibermesh.
    Then I would sculpt the body (seperately as I plan to use the head for various designs) out of dynamesh

  2. I would then unite the head and the body and create various armor pieces using the topology brush and extraction methods along with group loops for necessary parts

Around there I get stuck as to how to create high detail. When do I project detail, use UV’s, texture, use Zremesher and Decimation Master? Please note that I am not asking what these tools are simply when would be the best time to use them. feel free to mention any tutorials one could go through to develop a solid process as I am becoming terribly frustrated with confusion.

Any advice is greatly appreciated as I woukd love to straighten this out
