I want to create the little slivers that are in feathers where the strands group and cause a space in the feather. If I had a flat plane of geometry shaped like a feather, how could i delete out geometry for the little slivers?
You delete polygons by hiding them, then selecting “Delete Hidden” in the Geometry palette, or splitting the hidden geometry into its own subtool by using “split hidden” in the subtool menu and then deleting that subtool.
But that is going to create problematic geometry for you. You’d be much better served sculpting those indentation in, or creating the proper shape from scratch, but those subjects encompass the entire zbrush experience, and I cant explain them all to you here.
Likewise, you could use dynamesh to remesh the shape with some “wedges” taken out by inserting negative shapes.
