How to cut a subtool?

Hello!

My apologies if i’m being dense, I simply cannot seem to work this one out right now!

I have a ztool made up of two sub tools, which i’m going to get 3D printed. Due to the size, the print needs to be done in parts, so i’m printing the two subtools separately and they will be re-attached afterwards. However, there is some overlap between the two parts, which will obviously cause them to not fit together after printing.

Is there a workaround for cutting one subtool from another if I were to duplicate one and somehow use it to cut the exact shape of it from the other sub tool? (I hope that makes sense)

I know you can create shells and cut using the insert brushes, but if I create an insert mesh brush from one of the subtools, I can’t get it in the exact same place in order to cut it accurately.

Please help!

Many, many thanks in advance,

Brooke

use the boolean functions inside the subtool panel, that should do the trick. Make sure to inflate your pieces a bit as well.

AHA!

Amazing, thank you so much for helping me with that! Perfect timing too. Just tried it, works a treat!

I really appreciate that, thank you
