How to combine two files?

Hi all,

Relatively new to ZBrush… Wondering how to work/ import two files at the same time?..

I built a robot with 25-30 subtools…

Then I decided to build the hands in a different document with anther 20-30 subtools…

I’m trying to learn how to merge these two documents together while keeping all the parts editable? Hopefully this is possible

i tried importing… Tools…and objs ,…no luck

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks!
DK

To have them as separate tools in the same project you can:

  1. Load the first project. Select the model in the Tool palette and press Tool>Copy Tool.
  2. Open the second project. Select a tool in the Tool palette such as the PolyMesh3D Star and press Tool>Paste Tool.

If you want all the subtools of one model appended to the other model then a slightly different approach is necessary:

  1. Load the first project. Select the model in the Tool palette and press Tool>Save As. Save the model as a ZTL file to your hard drive.
  2. Open the second project. Select the model in the Tool palette then press Zplugin>Subtool Master>Multi Append. You’ll get a file open dialog. Select the ZTL file you saved at (1). The file will be loaded and all the subtools appended to your model.

Sweet … And simple… Lets hear for the noob!

2nd option was exactly what I was hoping for…

thanks again Marcus!!!

You’re welcome.
