How to close holes without losing polypaint

Hi,

I need your help! After I polypainted, I found an unwanted hole. when I closed the hole (tool>geometry>modify topology>close holes) , it was correctly closed but the vertex paint was broken not keeping a right texture anymore. I have attached a image that shows you what I mean. How can I do it without losing color texture?

duplicate your mesh.
close the hole
project your polypaint back on from the duplicate.
