how to close holes and keep subdivision levels?

Greetings,
I’m working on a skull and am facing a challenge with the teeth that I can’t seem to get through.
I modeled the skull from scratch but thought I could save some time using an existing set of teeth. Somehow I ended up with a hole in one of them that I can’t seem to fix.

Is there a workaround anybody could help me with? Via dynamesh maybe?

What I’d like to end up with is a subtool of all the teeth, with each tooth it’s own poly group so they are easy to move and detail individually.

If I go to dynamesh they are fusing together, if I delete all subdivision levels and use “close holes” the geometry gets distorted and I lose the subdivision levels.

Any thoughts are much appreciated

Have you tried to freeze subdivision levels, close holes, and unfreeze it. Then clean it up by dynamesh or qremesh.

that worked, thanks!
the topology wasn’t as nice as on the original teeth, so I ended up going back to the original mesh and extracting that tooth again (the hole was me not selecting all polys) and replacing the broken one.

btw. check this out
