How to close gap between two PolyGroups Please

I have imported a model from Blender to finish detailing.
I discovered that I have lost the seams in her clothes.
They are all between polygroups.

Is there a way to add connecting geometry between the polygroups?
Close Holes does not seem to work.
I assume because the holes are not enclosed on all sides.

Any help will really be appreciated.

does tool > import > merge or weld (turned up) make any difference ?

Thanks for the tip.
Welding did help another issue I was having.
I ended up re-importing the OBJ files since I had not done a lot to them yet.

Still have no idea why I lost those faces.
The re-imported files were all fine.

Thanks again.

Here is where I am so far.
Critiques welcome.

Is it possible that you subdivided the mesh after you imported it? Subdividing open ended meshes will cause them to shrink slightly. You can prevent the shrinkage by creasing the edges before you subdivide (Tool > Geometry > Crease).

It was a single mesh when I imported but it had a UV map and the gaps formed along the edges of the map.
I broke it into subtools according to the UV map and then subdivided.
Makes sense now.
Thanks,
