How to change location of the ZBrush virtual memory/cache files? [Solved]

Hey guys and girl…

In the recent release of Zbrush 4R4 it was stated that

“The location of the ZBrush virtual memory/cache files can now be changed, providing performance improvements on systems where the system drive is not the computer***8217;s fastest drive or is running low on disk space.”

I think I’ve looked everywhere but i can’t seem to find out how to do this… google didn’t help me much either… I hope some of you can help me out with this matter.

Thanks in advance

Mine is defaulting to my small SSD and I just lost a timelapse because it ran out of space. I’ve googled and scoured the interface but have had no luck changing the zbrush VMEM location. Please help!

Hi dude… i figured it out

C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData

you should be able to find this file.

ZBrushScratchDiskPath.TXT

This file is suppose to tell Zbrush where to write the vmem files… Change the location in that folder, and everything should be working

  • hope it helped

Thank you!
