How to bring in identical base mesh with new UVs & project them onto original model?

Did a search but not quite sure what the correct terminology would be so not having much luck finding anything on this subject - any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a mesh that im currently working on with lots of detailed modelling on higher gemoetry levels. What i’d like to do is export the base mesh (geometry level1) out to XSI, lay out the UVs, bring the new model back into ZBrush and project those UVs onto the original model.

I’m fairly certain someone told me about a way to do exactly this a couple of years back and it was a very simple process. Unfortunately i cant for the life of me remember how to do it!

reimport your newly basemesh in level 1 :stuck_out_tongue: of the detailed mesh.
