how to assign one texture for each polygroup.

I have one object but I want to assign multiple maps to it.
For example the object I have is humanoid, I would like to assign one texture map to the head at a higher resolution and the other map will cover the rest of the body.
I have been able to make two polygroups, one for the body another for the head.

Can someone tell me how to assign one texture for each polygroup.

Thanks in advance…

You can’t display multiple maps on a mesh in ZBrush. You can work with them but you need to work with each polygroup separately.

If your model has UVs:

  1. Select a polygroup by displaying polyframes (Shift + F) and the Shift+Ctrl+click on the group.

  2. Assign the map by clicking on the thumbnail in the Tool>Texture Map menu and selecting the map from the pop-up.

If your model doesn’t have UVs:

  3. Make sure you back up your model.

  4. Press Tool>SubTool>Groups Split. This will split your model into subtools based on the polygroups.

  5. Use UV Master to create UVs for each group.

  6. Combine your model again by pressing Tool>SubTool>Merge Visible.

The best way to work is to use polypaint and then create the maps using Tool>Texture Map>New from Polypaint for each group (hiding the others each time).
