How to apply detail to a retopolagised mesh

I am fairly new to zbrush, I have just got used to the full sculpting and modelling techniques but now need to actually optimize the final outcomes for use in animations and games.

I have come from mudbox where its as simple as duplicating the high poly sculpt, retopolagising or lowering the subdivision level of the duplicate, creating a UV map for it then extracting the detail from the high detail mesh to the lower one’s UV as a texture/ displacement/ normal map.

I am now at a point in zbrush where I have a high detail model and I am looking to retain the detail as a displacement or normal map but reduce the meshes poly count or completely retopolagise the mesh and UV map it yet still be able to apply the detail from the high poly sculpt onto it as a normal and/ or displacement map.

I have searched the depths of the internet and cant find any tutorials on this that make any sense to me, please could somebody enlighten me as to a way I can achieve this?
