How many times do I need to subdivide?

Been playing around building models in Blender and bringing to zbrush for texturing. I am wondering does it matter if I have 12 level of subdivision? Or should I

For example right now I am working on a corridor wall, base has about 80 polygons. To get it to 3 mill I subdivide about 10 levels. Any tips on working with such level geometry?

What question are you asking? If you’re asking how many times you need to subD that is a relative question. You need to divide until you can get the level of detail you require for sculpting or painting.

Yes meant to ask how many times relatively should I be subdividing currently one of my tools is at 10 subdivisions and reaches about 4 mill poly doesnt each subd level take more memory?
