Using Spotlight,I imported my texture to paint with.I click on the scalebutton and i can scale it uniformly but how do i scale it along just X or Y?
Tried clicking and holding Alt,ctrl etc but no joy.

While the Spotlight ring is visible, hold down Ctrl first then click and drag on the image, on the outside of the ring. It will also rotate it at the same time. Placement of the ring has an affect as to center of actions. Where you grab the image is also important. If you want to stretch it horizontally, then grab the side of the image. If you want to stretch it vertically , then grab the top or bottom of the image.
