On the Zbrush (4r4) I use at my school, the active and total points are displayed in the upper right corner under the Menus. Neither of my personal copies (4r4 and 4r5) show this. How can I get an active points HUD? I’m sure it’s easy, but all of my Googling has come to naught.
They should be on by default, but if your monitor at home has a smaller resolution you might not be able to see them.
If you want to make a custom UI and drag them to a new location, you can find them under Preferences: Misc
I see them under Preferences: Misc–how do I drag that somewhere else?
Preferences: Config: Enable Customize
You can then hold ctrl+alt and drag items around where you want (drag them to the document to get rid of anything you don’t). When you’re done you can turn off Enable Customize, and save your custom ui for future use.
One note with the Point Counters and custom UIs, but sometimes they wont show when you first launch zbrush and no model is loaded. If that’s the case all you’d have to do is have a tool in edit mode, and then switch the UI back and forth (you can switch UIs using the arrows in the top-right corner of zbrush).
The Ctrl+Alt drag did the trick–I was able to shove those numbers right where they belong. Thanks!
So the ctrl-alt thing works as far as me bringing the active and total points counts from the Preferences–>Misc menu to the area below the menus, but even when saving the Custom UI after dragging them there, they aren’t there when I re-open Zbrush (although all other changes are). How do I get them to “stick” there?
