Will saving it as a ztool work?
I haven’t seen any official word on whether R2 files are backwards compatible or not. But it is always safest to assume that you will not be able to open the files of a new version, in an older version of the program.
If all else fails, you can save out any file as an .OBJ at the highest subD level, import and reconstruct your subdivision levels in the old program.
