How do I transfer texture from one model to another? Answered

Hey all,

I have 2 models both are very similar geo wise but one has uvs and a texture and the other doesn’t have the uvs. I want to transfer the texture from the first one into poly painting or uv of the other. Is there a way to transfer uvs based on world space or transfer texture from the first model to the 2nd using world space?

Convert the reference mesh texture to polypaint in Tool>Polypaint

Append target mesh to reference mesh as subtool, and project the details onto the target mesh via the Project all function in the subtool palette, with MRGB on the top shelf pressed…

Done. The target mesh now has the original mesh’s polypainting. Make sure you’re working at high enough resolution to hold the polypaint detail. If the target mesh has UV’s, you can now convert that polypaint into a texture for it in the texture map palette(Tool>texture Map)
