How do I texture this this?

Just finished a Pillar for my spacehallway, I’m not sure how I would set this up for a film though. It’s too high-poly and without textures. What do I do?

You mind posting more pictures? How many subtools do you have?

You could use maya transfer mapping to bake your normals from your hi-poly to a lower poly version of your sculpt that you have unwrapped. Not sure if this is what you had in mind?

Pretty much every panel you see is a subtool.

At the moment I don’t have really any surface details or scatches. In what situation would I use the normal maps? For texturing coordinates?

Also, how do I create a lower poly version? Just lower my subdivision levels?
