How do I set up images for color dropping

Feeling like a newb, I don’t know how to set up images for color dropping. Want to upgrade my polypainting workflow and mix colors in photoshop first or pull colors from images. Similar to the Zbro video below, I’m sure this is already covered but I can’t find any info with a lot of googling. Pretty sure I’m just missing something basic.

The easiest way would be to load an image onto the background using the ‘Image Plane’ plugin.

  1. Click on ‘Texture’ menu and at the bottom, click ‘Image Plane’.
  2. In ‘Image Plane’, click on ‘Load Image’.
  3. When your image is loaded, move your cursor over the color you want to sample and press the ‘C’ key to make it the current color.
