How do I prevent the camera from rolling in edit mode?

Hello,
When I am rotating around an object I would like the camera to stay stable on the Z axis. I like how in Maya when I’m just manipulating the main view’s camera with mouse and hotkeys, the camera doesn’t roll.

I want the same in ZBrush because I spend a little too much time rotating the camera only to find that my tool is now upside down and I have to cumbersomely use the shift key to try to get it right side up.

Is there a disable roll setting or something analogous?

Thank you in advance.

You can constrain the rotation by using the Rot X, Y & Z buttons in the Transform palette (or two of these plus the XYZ one are on the right of the interface in the standard UI configuration). This will constrain the movement if you drag the cursor horizontally across the screen. See here for more info:

Note that this doesn’t completely prevent tumbling your model, it’s a sort of ‘soft’ constraint for side to side movement of the mouse.

Oh, the fact that it’s a soft constraint makes the rotate on y axis exactly what I need it to be.

Thank you very much!

This will also assist you  http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161588-quot-Axis-quot-Plugin-for-ZBrush-4r2

Oh my God! One of my biggest complaints about ZBrush is now fixed. Thanks for answering this.
