Thanks

Hi Raven36,
You simply click on the when posting a message. After you click this button, you’ll be asked to select the image that you want to upload (click the Browse button and select the image), and then press “Upload”. When upload is completed, you will be presented with another window, simply click on the “Click here to insert this image into your message.” and the image will be inserted into your message.

Thanks for your quick reply but, when I select the file I want it is to big.How do I save the file into the right format.
Thanks :qu:

The best will be to convert your file to a jpg (or jpeg) format. You can use any program that will allow you to convert from PSD or BMP formats (the formats that ZBrush exports) into JPG format.

Hi Raven.

To change the file size of an image, you need an image editor of some sort. Photoshop is probably the most popular. Each one works differently, so it will be hard to tell you exactly what to do without knowing the program that you’re using.

If it’s Photoshop, then it’s very simple. Simply open your image in Photoshop. Change its width and height to whatever you want using Image>Image Size (a good rule of thumb is to reduce the image size by about 50% if you can for the cleanest edges). Finally, go to File>Save for Web. This opens a preview window. On the right side it lets you set your jpg compression to achieve different levels of quality. As you change this setting, you will see the preview image change to show how the image looks with that quality. In the lower left, you will see the filesize at that quality setting. Generally, 60%-80% will give you a small enough file size while still looking good. Values over 80% are often hard to see any visible quality improvement at all. When you’re happy, just click the save button and name your file. Note that using this method will not change your master file at all. You’re simply saving a new version of the file as a compressed jpg for viewing online.

If you don’t have Photoshop, a quick solution is to go to Macromedia Fireworks and download the 30 day free trial. It has another good jpg quality selection tool (in the form of a floating panel near the middle of the right side of the screen). It’s so long since I’ve used it, though, that I don’t remember the details anymore.

Hope that helps you out!

As for ZBC, you need to upload images as either jpg or gif files, and they need to be less than 200 KB in size.

Good information, Aurick, thanks

Thanks Guys YOUR GRRRRREAT.
I’ve got it now.
(take a look at my new post)

Can I just throw in a little plug for a freeware application for the PC called infranview (http://www.irfanview.com).
It does everything from showing your pictures, makeing slideshows, thumbnails, a cd player, a movie player, a gif player, etc… I simply couldn’t work without it!
You can easyily resize your pictures with it and resave them as gif’s or Jpegs!
You should also download the plugins so you can watch movies with it!
