Why are you still using 3.1? The latest version of ZBrush is 4, a free upgrade to registered users. To upgrade, submit a ticket at the Support Center .
i am registered, and i have every upgrade, but i’m trying to move ZBrush off of my desktop and onto my new laptop. my disc is for 3.1 PC, since then i’ve been upgrading. i’m trying to get ZBrush 4 onto my new laptop without violating my license, or having to re-buy Zbrush. thanks a lot.
First of all, I don’t think you need your original 3.1 cd if you have version 4. Did you save the version 4 that you downloaded from Pixologic. I believe that’s all you need. First, you have to de-activate ZBrush 4 on your PC then install it on your laptop and reactivate it. Read the information on Re-activation and Deactivation in the ZBrush4_whats_new.pdf file in your ZBrush 4.0 Documentaion folder. It starts on page 19.
As zber2 says, all you need is your ZBrush 4 download. There’s no need to have 3.1 installed on your laptop as ZBrush 4 is a separate install. Transfer the file using a memory stick or whatever. If for some reason you need to download again then submit a ticket at the Support Center and we’ll arrange for your download link to be refreshed (free of charge).
