how do i get back all that high polly detail?

once i am finished with a model i want to pose it for multiple images (i like to get as much out of my model as possible) however the other programs i use, daz or blender. cannot handle a multi-million poly model. Zbrush has an excelent render engine and i want to use it but i do not like the transpose master as it is very glitchy.

my experiments show that the displacement map can be used to some effect but are there optimum settings for it?
