How do I draw more than one tube with the curvetube brush?

I start with a sphere and then select the CurveTube brush and make a line extending from the sphere off into space. When I try to make another tube the first one disappears. I have tried dynamesh and doing a ctrl-rect on a blank area of the canvas but that does not work. I would like to make more than one tube extending off the sphere surface.

Thanks for any help on this.

You have to delete the curve from the first tube before you can do another one. You can delete the curve by clicking once on the underlying mesh. It’s the same as going to “Stroke > Curve Functions > Delete”.

If you want to draw more than one tube and keep all the curves, use the CurveMultiTube brush.

Thanks zber2. I cannot always seem to click on the mesh behind or away from the curve line. Not sure why. I even made my brush size very small but most of the time it does not delete the curve line.

But the info on Curve Functions>Delete works. Thank you.

I noticed that when I zoom way in then I can hit the mesh without that little green circle appearing on the curve line.
Is there some trick to hitting the mesh? No matter where I click on the mesh it always thinks I am clicking on the line.

In your case, you would click on the sphere to delete the curve. That’s what I meant by underlying mesh. Are you trying to click on the tube itself.

I just discovered that by accident…thanks zber2. I was coming back in to edit and say I discovered that I didn’t have to click on the active tube mesh.

Thanks

No problem! :+1:

zber2 do you know if it is still possible to set “max points” in the stroke palette? I do not see it anywhere in the sub-palettes.

Thanks for pointing out that thread. I would have been asking the same questions.
