How do I do this? (Pumpkin hollow out)

Hi.
I’m trying to figure out what this person use next when he uses “CurvedQuadFill”. At 0:58. It seems to hollow out the eye parts of the pumpkin mesh.

At 1:23 he-she seems to use insert sphere brush to make the original sphere hollow. Not sure what button he presses to actually make it hollow.

Here’s the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gO7-nv0e6A

I’m a Zbrush newbie by the way, hope you can forgive me for these ridicolous questions

This thread contains tips about different approaches to Jack’oLanterns. It may be helpful:

Additional areas to study: Dynamesh and dynamesh subtraction, Remeshing, Curve Bridge brush, Extracts, Morph targets +Make difference mesh.

I read everything you said, unfortunely I don’t understand most of the parts you describe… I’m super new with ZBrush :frowning:
Any chance you could make a video?

The Zbrush documentation has a search function:

http://docs.pixologic.com/

So you could type in “Curve Bridge”, and find this:

http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/sculpting/sculpting-brushes/curve-bridge/

Or “Dynamesh” and find this:

http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/modeling-basics/creating-meshes/dynamesh/with-subtools/

…and see how it might be applied to what you want to do, and to the video you were watching. If you read the section on Dynamesh, you’ll understand how that person hollowed out their pumpkin. We were all super new to Zbrush at one point. This is how you learn.
