How do I delete imported tools not needed?

This has been bugging me for some time, and that is, when I import several versions of a mesh but no longer need the other models, I cant remomve them from the tool pallet. Having too many tools that look the same clutters up my work space and gets confusing?

The way im having to do this is keep initializing ZB which means I have to start importing all my work from scratch again.

If i understand corectly, you have option in tool palete caled DELETE!!!
Pick a tool in the tool palete that is no longer needed and simply click DELETE!
if i understand your question(becaouse i’m from Serbia) you should do that! Cheers and i hope i can help  :+1:

Hi there.

There is a delete in the Subtool pallet, but not in the Tool pallet, this means I can delete some sub tools, but not the first mesh within the sub tools.

Thanks.

You can’t delete individual tools in the tool palette. If you initialize ZBrush (from the Preferences palette) you will clear the Tool palette completely.

Yea thats what iv been doing, its a pain if your doing test, and have loads of tools not needed. Having to save the tool, initialize ZB, relocate the saved tool and load it again takes time if your having to keep doing over and over again. I would like to see a delete button for tools in future versions of ZB.

Thanks, at least I know im not missing somthing.

tez,

you can always name your tools.

Thanks, iv have been, but its not easy to come up with names that your going to remember, and it still gets confusing what version your wanting to do a certain thing on. To be honnest somthing like a delete button should be there as a basic function.

yes

In the Tool pallet is an “R” button. Click it, and all but the currently selected tool and some of the default tools will be removed from the pallet.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Dustin, il give that try and see if that helps clear things up, sounds promising.

will only restore the configuration of the palette. not actually remove anything from it

zbrush handles the management of objects so poorly. adding the ability to delete imported tools is a no brainer
