If you want to combine several shaders into one…

  1. First you select one of the multi-shader materials from the Standard Materials palette. They are…

DoubleShade1 = 2 shader slots.
TriShaders = 3 shader slots.
QuadShaders = 4 shader slots.

  1. This example will use the DoubleShade1 material (2 shader slots)…

a.) Select one of the materials you want to combine.
b.) In that materials ‘Modifiers’ subpalette, click ‘CopySH’ (copy shader).
c.) Select the ‘DoubleShade1’ material. In the ‘Modifiers’ subpalette, ‘S1’ will already be selected. Click ‘PasteSH’ (paste shader) to paste the shader you just copied from the other material.
d.) Select another material that you want to combine and repeat step b. (copy shader).
g.) Select the ‘DoubleShade1’ material again and click on ‘S2’ in the ‘Modifiers’ subpalette to select the second shader slot and paste the shader you just copied from the 2nd material.

You now have 2 shaders combined into 1.

You can play around and experiment with the settings to find something you like.
