How come my transpose tool does not stay with an object when I move the object?

So I am just starting to look at using the transpose tool to re position sub tools in relation to each other, and when I use the transpose tool to move an object by clicking the center circle of the trans pose tool and dragging, only the object moves but the actual transpose tool stays in the original position, why is this happening? You don’t have to reset the tool to the object after every move do you?

I know the transpose tool has many features but for just moving one object around in space in relation to another it seems not that user friendly, granted this may be just me. Am I missing some thing here? Are there any plugins for another type of manipulator , something like just x,y and z movement arrows to drag an object in that direction, and may be some rotation rings? I would like to quickly drag objects around in 3D space in position them relation to each other, whats the best way to do this in ZB.

Thanks

The simplest way to move a subtool is to turn on Move mode, hold Alt then click+drag on the subtool (without touching the transpose line at all). The same action in Scale mode will change the scale. Unfortunately the Transpose line does need to be repositioned each time.

Thanks Marcus yes I see, that is the quickest, although I think then you are only able to be moving along the view plane. The axis’s of the transpose line lets you drag an object in an X, Y, or Z direction, but unlike some other apps you cant just click and pull on the axis, first you have to click the axis you want to orientate the action line to it then you can drag the action line, but yes then the whole transpose line does not follow the object. I would love to see an option for just a simple “gumball” type manipulator.
